ANALOG DOUBLE EXPOSURE

DOBLE EXPOSICIÓN ANALÓGICA

What is double exposure?

Double exposures involve taking two or more photos in a single frame . Basically, "superimposing" one image over another. By taking a photo without advancing the film, you're exposing the same frame again. And how do you do it? Well, there are two methods for double-exposing film.

  • Method 1: Rewind the reel again

You can shoot a full roll as usual, and then, once rewound, re-expose it. You can rewind carefully without inserting the film completely into the 35mm cassette, or you can use a tool to remove the film tip and reload it.

This method is useful if you just want to experiment and see what you can create with very little planning and are 100% open to experimentation.

  • Method 2: Overexpose the frame

The other option is to expose the same frame twice, in a controlled manner, one after the other. Some cameras have a small tab that allows you to do this; if not, a quick way to do it is:

– Take a photo

– Press the button on the bottom of the camera or that allows you to rewind

– Move forward with the lever

– Shoot again

– Advance the film with the lever and start again
